Toronto, ON and Owego, NY - February 10, 2025 - Combined Metal Industries
(CMI), a leader in scrap metal recycling, and Upstate Shredding, a premier scrap
metal processor, are pleased to announce a strategic partnership to convert the New
Castle, Pennsylvania facility into a cutting-edge aluminum shredding operation. The
transformation is currently underway, with the plant expected to be fully
operational within the next 6 months.
This collaboration aims to enhance the processing capabilities of the Pennsylvania
facility, enabling efficient recycling of aluminum materials to meet the growing
demand for sustainable metal solutions. The upgraded plant will feature advanced
shredding and segregation technology, ensuring high-quality output while adhering
to environmental standards.
CMI (USA), together with its US Trading Division (Compass Metal Trading) will be
managing all commercial activities including the supply of segregated aluminum
shreds into the sheet and extrusion markets.
